The sky showed promise that it wasn't going to rain! We headed out and went to the Agrodome. The Agrodome celebrates agriculture, with and emphasis on sheep farming. We had gotten tickets at the Pohutu Cultural Theatre for a free pass to the Sheep show (Toa was banned and couldn't join us) so Jazz, Horse, Yvette and I went. The show was actually very good, they showed us the many different sheep being raised in NZ, they sheared a sheep on stage, they had dogs perform some tricks, and afterward they had a sheep-dog trials demonstration. After that we headed to Skyline skyrides and took a gondola car up to the restaurant. After lunch we rode the 'luge' which is a cart that you can ride down a concrete track. That was a lot of fun. I chased Yvette on her cart all the way to the botton, harassing her by bumping into her while she blocked me from passing her. Toa and Horse split off and Yvette, Jazz, and I went to Howard's brother in law's (Roger), and he took us for a ride in his boat. We went to Tarawera Lake, and Roger took us across to a hot water beach. The geothermal activity in the area sends hot water to the land surface, and it pours back into the water, resulting in some fantastic soaking. On the way back, Yvette summoned her courage and 'rode the biscuit', an inflatable tow-along behind the boat. She had a blast alternating between laughing and apprehension. After putting the boat up, we headed back to the cabins for more beer and socializing. Which is what we are doing, as I type....
